Marrying your own adoptive daughter wasn’t a big deal for Woody Allen!!
Soon-Yi Previn is the adopted daughter of Mia Farrow, Woody Allen’s long-term partner of more than ten years, and Mia Farrow’s former husband, Andre Previn.
In 1992, Mia Farrow discovered nude photographs of Soon-Yi, who was 21 at the time, taken by Woody Allen, who was 57 at the time.
This discovery led to a highly publicized and contentious split between Allen and Farrow.
Allen denied any wrongdoing and claimed that he had never been a “father figure” to Soon-Yi.
Farrow, on the other hand, alleged that Allen had sexually abused another daughter, Dylan, at the age of 7 in the attic of their Connecticut home.
Allen vehemently denied these allegations, and after two criminal investigations, he was never charged.
Allen and Soon-Yi later married and adopted two children together.
As an outsider looking in, this situation is definitely strange and even a bit disturbing.
The age difference between Allen and Soon-Yi is significant, and it’s hard to imagine how they ever came together in the first place.
They are arguably one of the most unusual celebrity couples of all time.
Personally, I find this situation to be quite unsettling.
The power imbalance between Allen and Soon-Yi, as well as the allegations of sexual abuse against Dylan, raise serious concerns.
Although these are just allegations, and Allen has never been charged with any crime.
However, the fact that these allegations have been made, and that Allen and Soon-Yi have continued their relationship despite the controversy, is troubling.
