While animals can certainly add so much joy to our lives, there are a few potential dangers of befriending critters that it’s important to be aware of – but don’t worry, with some common sense precautions it’s totally possible to safely snuggle all the puppers and kitties!
First off, let’s talk scratches and bites. Now I know what you’re thinking – how could anyone resist those sweet little faces? But the truth is even the most well-intentioned fur baby can feel scared or get overstimulated sometimes. Make sure to carefully observe their body language and respect signs that they may need space. You’ll also want to check for fleas or ticks which could carry diseases.
But hands down the biggest risk? Falling head over heels in love! Once you start playing with that silky soft fur or gazing into those sparkling eyes, it’s practically impossible not to want to take them home forever. Before you know it your couch is more fur than fabric and you’ve got a dozen half-eaten chew toys under the bed. Some may see it as a “problem” but I call it living my best life – just be prepared to fully commit to all the cuddles!
With a little care and caution when getting close to critters, the rewards definitely outweigh the risks in my book. Who could resist all that unconditional love? Get out there and make some furry friends – just try not to adopt them all, no matter how much you want to!
