At the match between the Los Angeles Chargers and Miami Dolphins, there was something strange that caught the eye of some spectators in the stands: Robot characters with their headgear, gray overalls and not-so-friendly-looking stances!
The robot characters who settled in the stands for the promotion of Gareth Edwards’ new movie The Creator, which will be released on September 29, are inspired by the subject of the movie. The script, written by Chris Weitz, takes place in a future where humans and artificial intelligence are at war. Robot characters in the stands are placed to convey a slice of the atmosphere in the movie to the American National Football League match held at SoFi Stadium. Disney, which previously used the stadium to promote the trailer of the movie Avatar: The Way of Water, also allows the robots to be seen on the stadium screen. Although it is not clear whether the characters are real robots or people with robot make-up, comments on social media indicate that this initiative was made to get people used to a future where artificial intelligence is among us and to normalize the situation!
