Written by Steven Knight, ‘Maria’ will be about the life of Maria Callas in Paris in the 1970s and the deep loneliness she experienced. Aristotle Onassis leaves Maria Callas to marry Jackie Kennedy, the wife of assassinated John F. Kennedy. After this betrayal, Callas moved first to Italy and then to France. Maria Callas died of a heart attack in 1977 at the age of 52.

Who is Haluk Bilginer?
He was born on June 5, 1954, as the middle child of three children of insurance agent Tahsin Bey and housewife Bedriye Hanım.
He graduated from Izmir Turkish College. In his senior year of high school, he entered the theater department of his school and became a student of Cahit Gürkan.
He received his first award in the inter-high school theater competition organized by Demokrat İzmir Newspaper. He worked as a guest actor at the Izmir State Theater upon the invitation of the theater manager Ragıp Haykır, who was in the jury.
He became famous in England during his youth. So much so that he appeared on the cover of a magazine in England with the title “the sexiest Turk”.
He came to Istanbul for the first time in 1987 to shoot the movie The Other Face of the Night, and on the set of this movie he met Zuhal Olcay, whom he would marry in 1992.
He lived his life between Istanbul and London for a while. After getting married in 1992, the couple starred together in the TV series “Indiana Jones” in Hollywood and in Yavuz Özkan’s movie “Two Women” in Turkey. In 1996, he starred in Tomris Giritlioğlu’s film 80. Adım, and then in award-winning films such as “Istanbul Under My Wings”, “Master Beni Öldürsene”, and “Innocence”.
Haluk Bilginer, who wanted to continue his acting on the theater stage, founded the Theater Studio with Ahmet Levendoğlu and Zuhal Olcay in 1990. He took on leading roles in the Theater Studio’s plays Deception (Harold Pinter), Blood Brothers (Willy Russell), Take a Deep Breath (Ben Elton), Çöplük (Turgay Nar), Hysteria (Terry Johnson) and Balkon (Jean Genet). In 1993, he presented Turkey’s first reality show, Sıcağı Sıcandaki . In order to own a theater, he rented the Odeon Cinema and started construction, but all his efforts were wasted with the fire that broke out in 1996; Still, Undeterred, Bilginer and Olcay left the community and founded Oyun Atölyesi in a hall they rebuilt in Moda in 1999. He separated from Zuhal Olcay, whom he married in 1992, in 2004. The artist, who married pop music artist Aşkın Nur Yengi in 2006, has a daughter named Nazlı from this marriage. He divorced Aşkın Nur Yengi in 2012.
