An unnamed 6-month-old baby in the US state of Indiana was attacked by mice while sleeping. According to 14News, the boy’s parents, David and Angel Schonabaum, woke up to find their little son covered in blood.
According to arrest reports obtained by the local station, the baby’s forehead, cheek, nose, hip, foot, arm, fingers and toes were covered in bites and he lost a significant amount of blood. Police said his right arm was gnawed by rodents from his elbow to his hand, and some of his fingers were bitten off.
He said his bones were exposed.
The 6-month-old baby, whose name was not released, was taken to a hospital in Indianapolis where he received a blood transfusion. When police officers examined the house where the 6-month-old child lived, they said that the house on South Linwood Avenue, where the child’s 3- and 6-year-old siblings and 2- and 5-year-old cousins also lived, was full of mess, garbage and mouse feces.
The boy’s parents, David and Angel Schonabaum, were charged with child neglect. The boy’s aunt, Delania Thurman, who lives in the same home in Evansville, was also arrested on the same charge.
