Making a statement about the effects of daily lifestyle on health during Public Health Week, Turkey Çankırı Provincial Health Director Dr. Hüseyin Sarıkaya said, “Daily lifestyle and habits directly affect health. In order to be protected from many diseases, it is necessary to eat healthy, adopt an active lifestyle, and stay away from smoking and alcohol.”
Provincial Health Director Sarıkaya, who made a statement within the framework of ‘Public Health Week’ celebrated between 3-9 September every year, gave advice on methods of protection against cancer and infectious diseases. Stating that my public health practices aim to ensure that the individual lives a healthy life and is protected from diseases from the womb to the end of his life, Sarıkaya said that protection from many diseases will be achieved thanks to the points to be taken into consideration in daily life.
Dr. underlines that it is necessary to eat healthy to protect from diseases. Sarıkaya said, “In our country (Turkey), it is celebrated as ‘Public Health Week’ every year between 3-9 September in order to emphasize the importance of public health and preventive health services and to raise the awareness of our citizens. Public health aims to provide all the health services required to protect and improve the health of individuals and to inform the society about healthy living.
Within the framework of preventive health services, in our country, the national vaccination program, which is one of the most comprehensive vaccination programs in the world, is applied to our children with the assurance of the future with its high immunization rate. With the aim of preventing the emergence of diseases in the fight against infectious diseases; Contagious diseases are monitored 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and in case of any danger of an epidemic, rapid action is taken to initiate epidemic control efforts. Protecting and improving women’s and children’s health is among the priorities of our Ministry of Health. Health services, especially for women of childbearing age and for babies and children starting from pregnancy, are carefully maintained and closely monitored.
Screening programs are continuing against the most common types of cancer: breast, cervix and colon cancers.
